More than 1,000 people will attend the start of the Gagarin Race

The Gagarin Race, one of the oldest running events in the Moscow region, will take place on April 19 in Zvezdny Gorodok. This launch, dedicated to a significant event – the first human spaceflight, will bring together athletes and active lifestyle enthusiasts from all over Russia. The race will be held for the 55th time.

Participants are given a rare opportunity to visit the closed territory of Kosmograd, replenish their collection of sports trophies and become part of an important historical event. They will have to choose one of five distances: 300 m, 1 km, 5 km, 10 km or 21.1 km. Each registered member will receive a branded T-shirt, as well as memorable prizes and gifts from the organizers and partners.

The race route will pass through the central part and main streets of the Star City, allowing athletes to see one of the capitals of the country's space industry.

In addition to the sports program, an entertainment area with themed venues and a concert program has been prepared for the audience and guests of the event. Also, everyone will be able to visit the museum of the Cosmonaut Training Center and learn more about the development of Russian cosmonautics — from the legendary flight of Yuri Gagarin to modern achievements.

The Gagarin Race is organized by the League of Heroes with the support of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Moscow Region and the administration of the Zvezdny Gorodok district.
