A resident of Kazakhstan tried to transfer $400 to a fraudster who posed as Canadian actor Keanu Reeves. The Republican Ministry of Internal Affairs informed about this on April 7.
"A 62-year-old woman from Kostanay corresponded on TikTok for six months with a user who introduced himself as the famous Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves," the department's Telegram channel says.
According to her, she started communicating with the user six months ago. A week ago, he made a request to her because he found himself in a difficult life situation. The man asked her to transfer $400.
After that, the woman contacted the bank, where she was told that the specified account was unclear.
On the same day, it became known that telephone fraudsters stole over 1 million rubles from a pensioner in Pushkino. It is specified that law enforcement agencies managed to detain the accomplice of the crimes committed.
