The Sobol minivan was turned into an armored car with amenities
The Nizhny Novgorod company Akross, together with Gorky Automobile Plant, presented an armored business van based on the new Sobol NN designed for VIP transportation. Armored plates provided protection for the sides of the body, roof, floor, engine compartment, battery, fuel tank and wheel arches, reports "Drom" on April 7.
The protection class for the body is Br2 (prevents damage by bullets fired from TT, CP—1, PSM pistols), for glass - Br3 (withstand fire from a Kalashnikov assault rifle with steel bullets). Additionally, the car's sliding side door mechanisms were reinforced, and airbags were installed in the rear suspension. The total weight of the minivan does not exceed 3.5 tons, meaning it can still be operated with passenger category B rights.
The interior of the minibus is divided by a sliding partition into a double cabin and a passenger compartment with three seats, the latter equipped with electric drive, heating, ottomans and armrests. Wireless charging and USB ports, a Wi-Fi router, a refrigerator, a pull-out table, a TV and other options are provided.
A standard 2.5-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 149 hp is installed under the hood of the car, which is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, rear-wheel drive.
On February 19, sales of the new all-wheel drive minivan "Sobol NN 4x4" started in Russia, the price of the novelty, taking into account special promotions and preferential conditions, starts from 4.02 million rubles. A G 2.5 diesel engine with a capacity of 149.6 hp (420 Nm) is installed under the hood of the car, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is a rear axle differential lock and a planetary-type step-down gearbox in the transfer case.
