The Russian authorities are doing everything to minimize the consequences of the international economic storm for the Russian Federation against the background of the trade duties imposed by US President Donald Trump. This was announced on April 7 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The presidential spokesman also noted that the current fluctuations in oil prices are largely due to foreign policy decisions, in particular the imposition of duties by the United States. He noted that Moscow is closely monitoring this situation.

"Our economic authorities are monitoring this situation very closely and, of course, are doing and will do everything necessary to minimize the consequences of this international economic storm for our economy," he concluded.

Earlier, on April 3, Georgy Ostapkovich, director of the HSE Center for Economic Research and Economic Analysis, said that the crisis due to the duties imposed by Washington could lead to a drop in prices for oil, coal and other raw materials. He noted that this could also affect the Russian economy.
