Avtodor's revenue from toll roads increased by 50%

By the end of 2024, the revenues of the state-owned Avtodor company from toll collection on highways increased by 50% compared to the previous year and amounted to 121.8 billion rubles. This was reported on April 7 by Kommersant with reference to the annual accounting statements.

Compared to 2022-2023, the dynamics of fee collection accelerated, with an increase of 44% and 36.5%, respectively. Initially, Avtodor planned to collect 105 billion rubles in 2024, in fact, it turned out to be 16% more, the note notes.

The state-owned company explains the increase in revenue by the opening of new highways (for example, the M-12 from Moscow to Kazan) and the increased demand for high-speed toll roads. Thus, by the end of 2024, the traffic intensity on them increased by 30% compared to 2023 (almost 400 million passes were recorded in total).

Avtodor noted that the proceeds from the collection of fees are used for the maintenance and repair of roads, traffic safety and the return of attracted investments (NWF, bonds and investors' money). In total, from 2010 to 2024, the state-owned company attracted about 1 trillion rubles of investment in the construction of highways.

On February 24, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced that the section of the M-12 Vostok toll highway to Yekaterinburg is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of June 2025. After Yekaterinburg, the federal highway M-12 Vostok will be extended to Tyumen. In the future, the highway will become part of the Russia transport route, which will stretch for about 12 thousand km from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.

Prior to that, on December 12 last year, it was reported that the Russian government had approved a new plan for the construction of new federal toll roads by the state-owned Avtodor company until 2030. The total amount of funds for facilities will grow by 20% — from 877 billion to 1,052 trillion rubles. Subsidies from the federal budget will amount to 889.5 billion rubles. A total of 647 km of toll roads will be introduced (after construction or reconstruction).
