The State Duma allowed the resumption of cooperation with Europe on energy resources

The European Union (EU) countries may begin to conclude contracts with Russian companies for the supply of energy resources privately. This opinion was expressed by State Duma deputy Igor Ananskikh on Monday, April 7.
According to the parliamentarian, the return to cooperation with Russia in this direction will be beneficial for the citizens of European states.
"Europe is very interested in restoring cooperation with Russia on energy resources, but whether it will restore it in the end is a question...> I hope they will understand that their main task is to ensure the well-being of the inhabitants of their own countries and the prosperity of their businesses. And then the countries will be able to return to purchasing energy resources from Russia directly," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
Ananskikh noted that the policy of the EU leadership often turns out to be extremely unprofitable for individual countries and their residents.
"There are two options: either the EU leadership will understand that their task is to develop the union, or the countries will try to conclude contracts with Russian companies directly. We see that even now large volumes of energy resources are being purchased in Russia, which somehow come to Europe, but with margins of two to three times, which is extremely unprofitable for businesses and citizens," the deputy concluded.
On April 5, Mario Vogt, Prime Minister of the German federal state of Thuringia, a member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, allowed the resumption of Russian gas supplies to Germany, according to the website. kp.ru .
Also, according to the politician, the resumption of supplies is possible only after the end of the conflict in Ukraine. 360.ru .
Earlier, on April 4, Lubos Blaga, a member of the European Parliament (EP) from Slovakia, told Izvestia about his intention to return Russian gas transit to the European Union through his territory. He added that the situation is so absurd that even Western countries that "hate" Russia buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from it and then sell it in Europe.
