A regional emergency regime has been introduced in the Trans-Baikal Territory in connection with forest fires. This was announced on April 7 by the governor of the region, Alexander Osipov.

"Such a regime will allow us to concentrate all the forces available in the region to fight forest fires, and more effectively identify and punish those responsible for arson," he said in his Telegram channel.

According to Osipov, almost all forest fires in the region since the beginning of the year have been caused by humans. The governor stressed that the situation remains tense, and urged residents of the region to protect the forests.

A day earlier, an emergency mode due to wildfires was introduced in the Minusinsk district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The district administration urged residents to limit movement near the fire zones, monitor official reports and follow the instructions of rescuers.
