Putin signed a law banning the imposition of additional services

On April 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning the imposition of additional goods and automatic consent for services. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the law, the seller does not have the right to provide paid additional services without the consumer's knowledge. If they were provided without the client's consent, the client may refuse to pay and demand a refund.
There is also a ban on automatically obtaining consent to purchase additional goods and services. The demand for a refund for the imposed purchases must be satisfied within three days from the date of its submission.
It is specified that the law will enter into force on September 1 of this year.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on March 31 that the bill banning the imposition of additional services on customers, including in car dealerships, is designed to protect citizens from excessive spending, as well as to stop attempts at manipulation and coercion to make unnecessary and unprofitable purchases.
