The RSA pointed out the problems of introducing CTP policies for a day

The introduction of a short-term CTP contract for 24 hours will require the adaptation of insurance companies' processes, in particular, the refinement of information systems. This is stated in the message of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), which was received by Izvestia on April 7.
So, for registration of an accident in accordance with the European protocol, as well as in general for the participants of the accident to understand the possibility of contacting an insurance company, it is necessary to check the validity of the policy by the hour and minute during the day. There is no such possibility now, the RSA explained.
"There are also questions regarding the calculation of the surcharge or the refund of part of the insurance premium when making additional agreements to the CTP agreement. Current practice and regulatory regulations imply recalculation of premiums in multiples of days, not hours. The same rules apply in the case of a refund of part of the insurance premium in case of early termination of the contract," the insurance union notes.
In addition, the RSA indicated that the reasons for the change in the approach to ultrashort policies are unknown to the union: complaints from car owners about the current procedure, according to which the contract expired at midnight, regardless of the time of registration, were not recorded.
From April 7, ultra-short CTP policies for 24 hours will be launched in Russia. Such a change in settings is introduced at the request of the Central Bank, Nikolay Galushin, General Director of the National Insurance Information System (NSIS), told Izvestia. With the new rules, the insurance period is exactly one day.
