Traveling is always a new experience, but sometimes it can't do without incidents. On April 8, Emil Ziyadinov, Director of Partner Network Development at Tutu, told Izvestia about how not to get into an unpleasant situation with a tour operator and not spoil your vacation.

"Recently, a group of tourists was unable to visit China. Adults and children are ready, suitcases are packed, but on the day of departure it turns out that the tour operator did not pay for the vouchers. You can't bring back a ruined vacation. The authorities have already joined in and some of the travelers have been sent home," he explained.

To avoid getting into such situations, it is better to carefully check the reputation and reviews of the travel company before traveling.

"Be sure to request a confirmation of your reservation. The tour operator is obliged to send you a voucher from the hotel and electronic copies of air tickets. If the agency refuses, this is a red flag," the expert warns.

There are also situations when a person is offered a five-star hotel at a low price. It looks suspicious. As a result, instead of comfortable accommodation, a tourist is waiting for a room, for example, without windows.

"Now it's easy to check all the hotels by video reviews from other visitors, see photos, read reviews and comments," Ziyadinov advised.

If, after all, the traveler got into an unpleasant situation, arriving at the hotel, it is necessary to record all violations. You should ask the hotel for a written confirmation of your reservation. The tour operator will have to pay a fine if he did not pay what the client wanted.

In order not to stumble upon an unscrupulous tour operator, the expert recommended choosing reliable companies. A long work history, positive reviews, and market prominence are good signs. Each tour operator can be easily checked by specifying the name in the search, according to the Unified Federal Register of Tour Operators.

"[Prices should] be compared. Suspiciously cheap prices can sometimes bring unpleasant surprises in the future. [It is] worth recording all agreements and shortcomings. The more documents you have, the easier it is to protect your rights later. If an unpleasant situation does happen to you during your trip, you should not despair and waste everything on toromzah - according to the law on consumer protection, you can demand a refund and compensation," Ziyadinov summed up.

According to the Yandex Travel service, in 2025, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Italy turned out to be the most popular destinations for Russian tourists. At the same time, the demand for trips to Egypt, South Korea and China has increased significantly.
