The Coin Week campaign for the exchange of small change for banknotes has begun in Russia.

The Coin Week campaign has been launched in Russia, where you can exchange coins for banknotes. This was announced on April 7 by the Central Bank of Russia on its website.

The campaign will be held from April 7 to April 19 throughout the country. Citizens will be able to exchange their accumulated coins for paper money in banks and online stores.

"Detailed information about the terms and addresses of participants is available on the Coin Week website.the Russian Federation," the publication says.

It is noted that last year the Coin Week campaign was held twice, as a result of which 75 million coins worth 320 million rubles were returned to circulation.

On April 4, Deputy Chairman of the regulator Sergey Belov announced that the Central Bank had begun developing an updated design of the 500-ruble banknote. In addition, in 2026, the modeling of banknotes in denominations of 10 and 50 rubles will begin. According to Belov, the release dates of the upgraded banknotes were shifted due to the fact that the symbol selection procedure was made open.
