Programmers have listed the advantages of using AI in their work

Among the programmers surveyed, 70% of developers are dissatisfied with AI assistants for writing code, but most admitted that using artificial intelligence speeds up and simplifies software development. This is stated in the results of a study by MTS AI, which were reviewed by Izvestia on April 7.
According to experts, more than half of developers (56%) work in organizations that already have corporate AI tools for writing code and solving other tasks. At the same time, 40% of respondents face restrictions on the use of third-party AI services in some projects, and for 9% they are completely prohibited. 25% of the survey participants indicated that their companies lacked clear rules on the use of artificial intelligence.
However, 69% of programmers have used AI at least once in their work. Of these, 47% continue to turn to such solutions. 58% of respondents use AI tools to generate code for text queries, 57% - when searching for errors. Also among the most popular application scenarios are writing tests (43%) and code completion (41%).
"The study found that AI significantly saves developers time — 50% of respondents who regularly use artificial intelligence-based solutions in their work save from 1 to 4 hours a week. Experts note the speed of routine tasks (68%), reduced time spent searching for information (57%) and increased productivity (53%)," the company noted.
However, 70% of respondents are not satisfied with the quality of the received code. Only 19% of the programmers surveyed said they had no complaints about the quality of AI assistants' work.
In addition, a third of respondents from among users of AI development services said that they are forced to make corrections to code and text generated by artificial intelligence in more than 80% of use cases, and 27% of respondents - in 50-80%.
Earlier, on March 6, it was reported that the majority of creative specialists surveyed actively use neural networks in their work. At the same time, 43% of respondents use them on a regular basis, according to the results of a study by the Moscow Creative Industries Agency and MTS AI.
