The book "Northern Floriculture" became the winner of the Book of the Year contest held in the Murmansk region. The authors of the work are a team of researchers from the Polar Alpine Botanical Garden—Institute named after Aurorin.
The Murmansk Regional Scientific Library of the Bi-Port News Agency said that this regional competition is a large-scale project aimed at supporting publishing activities and popularizing the best works by authors of the Arctic.
This year, more than 100 publications competed for the victory. The jury also noted the work of local historian Evgeny Stahl, the encyclopedia of the Arctic seas of Russia "From the Barents Sea to the Bering Sea" and other publications telling about the history and cultural heritage of the Kola Region.
Earlier it was reported that two branches of the central library system (CBS) of the city opened in Olenegorsk (Murmansk region) after modernization. Libraries have become model libraries. They are the winners of the national project "Culture" competition for the creation of modern libraries in 2024, their modernization was supported by the federal budget.
