Experts pointed to an increase in the number of sunflower oil producers

After the labeling was introduced, 172 sunflower oil producers appeared on the market, the press service of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) told Izvestia on April 7.

They also noted that mandatory labeling of vegetable oil was introduced in Russia on October 1, 2024. In five months, 172 new manufacturers have appeared on the market thanks to the Honest Sign.

"Before the introduction of mandatory requirements, 305 vegetable oil producers officially worked on the market. Thanks to the labeling, this number has increased to 477. The increase was over 33%," Yulia Kuzmina, head of the Department of excise—free food products, told Izvestia.

Earlier, on February 12, the Ministry of Agriculture reported an increase in the production of vegetable oils. It was noted that in 2024, domestic producers produced more than 10.4 million tons of vegetable oils, which is 6.9% more than the level of the previous year.
