The expert pointed to the growing literacy of the regular participants of the "Total Dictation"

In the "Total Dictation — 2025" the percentage of excellent students reaches 50%. This was announced by Vyacheslav Belyakov, Chairman of the Philological Council of Total Dictation, researcher at the V.V. Vinogradov Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Secretary of the Spelling Commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences, at the Izvestia press center on April 7 during the press conference "Total Dictation - 2025: the results of the campaign."

He specified that a huge number of people, participating in dictation, can improve their literacy in a few years.

Vladimir Pakhomov, Chairman of the Philological Council of Total Dictation, researcher at the V.V. Vinogradov Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Secretary of the Spelling Commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences, added that calculations are continuing, but in cities where they have already been completed, the percentage of excellent students ranges from 6-7% to 10%.
