The ambassador of Belarus declared pressure on Switzerland because of the conference on Ukraine

Switzerland was under pressure before the conference on Ukraine, which took place on June 15-16, 2024 in Burgenstock. This was stated on April 7 by Minsk's Ambassador to Bern, Alexander Ganevich.

He noted that such concepts as tact and ethics remain important in Belarusian diplomacy, and therefore they did not require the Swiss authorities to explain why Minsk was not invited to the summit on resolving the Ukrainian crisis.

"If Switzerland did not send us an invitation, then it had its own reasons, or there was some outside pressure on the organizers of the summit," Ganevich told RIA Novosti.

The diplomat also stressed that a "peace conference" without Russia's participation looks like a strange approach to resolving the conflict. He added that initially the goal of the summit was not to find real solutions to the problem, she added."Газета.Ru ".

The conference was held in Burgenstock on June 15-16. Moscow was not invited to participate in it. Several delegations stated at once that the Russian Federation should participate in such events. At the same time, BRICS members were among those who refused to sign the final communique of the summit. The signatures of the representatives of Iraq, Jordan and Rwanda were also excluded from the document. It noted three blocks of problems that the conference participants agreed to work on. In particular, one of them stated that all prisoners of war should be released through a full exchange.
