The court in Vladivostok commuted the sentence of the American Black

The Ninth Court of Cassation of General Jurisdiction in Vladivostok has commuted the sentence of American soldier Gordon Black, convicted of threatening murder and theft. This was reported to Izvestia on April 7 by the court's press service.
It clarifies that the person involved is accused of committing crimes under Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Threat of murder if there were grounds to fear the implementation of this threat"), paragraph "b" of part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code ("Theft committed causing significant damage to a citizen"). His term of imprisonment was reduced to three years and two months.
"The court decided to partially satisfy the cassation appeal. The verdict of the Pervomaisky District Court of Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, dated June 6, 2024, and the appeal ruling of the Primorsky Regional Court dated August 19, 2024 against convicted Black Gordon Chris should be changed. To commute the sentence imposed on Black under paragraph "b" of the second part of Article 158 of the Criminal Code (Theft) to three years and two months in prison," the source confirmed.
Last June, the Pervomaisky District Court of Vladivostok sentenced Black to three years and nine months in a general regime penal colony. The court also granted the victim's civil claim for 10 thousand rubles.
Black came to the Russian woman on April 10 after meeting her in South Korea. Later, the girl had a conflict with a man, after which she discovered the loss of funds and turned to the police for help. Black was arrested for two months. The Russian Foreign Ministry's office in Vladivostok noted that initially the American serviceman was supposed to leave South Korea at the end of his business trip and return home to Fort Kavasos in Texas, but decided to go to Russia on his own initiative.
