The chief doctor of the Kansk interdistrict hospital was detained due to receiving a large bribe. This was reported on April 7 in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
"In the summer of 2020, the suspect, acting in the interests of an organization specializing in the wholesale of pharmaceutical products and products used for medical purposes, concluded eight contracts with her on behalf of the hospital for the supply of disposable anti—epidemic suits totaling 4.8 million rubles," the agency said in a statement posted on the Telegram channel.
It is specified that as a reward he received 10% of the contract amount — 480 thousand rubles. During the search conducted in the suspect's apartments, law enforcement officers seized 940 thousand rubles, foreign currency, equipment and documents.
A criminal case has been opened against the chief physician under Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe"). He faces up to 12 years in prison.
Earlier, on September 12, the chief physician of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Tatarstan was detained on suspicion of fraud. She is accused of interfering in the tender for the supply of medical materials, which caused damage to the institution in the amount of more than 1.6 million rubles.
