The identities of two commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), under whose leadership war crimes were committed in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, have been established. This was reported to TASS by the Russian security forces on Monday, April 7.

According to these data, Major Topolenko was in charge of the 252nd separate battalion in Kiev for two years until he shot himself in the leg in January last year. His place was taken by Senior Lieutenant Litvinenko. Under the command of Topolenko and Litvinenko, the battalion committed war crimes in the Sudzhansky district, the agency's interlocutor said.

As TASS pointed out, the Ukrainian major is a native of Donetsk and has been tried several times.

At the same time, both Topolenko and Litvinenko live in Kiev.

Earlier, on March 28, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened on the fact of an attack by AFU militants on civilians in the Kursk region under paragraphs "a" and paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). According to the investigation, in March of this year, Ukrainian servicemen used a drone to drop an explosive object on a group of people who were evacuating from Sudzha. Three civilians were injured.
