At least 13 secondary schools in Duisburg, Germany, have been closed due to anonymous threats of "purges." This was reported by the Bild newspaper on April 6.

"Due to the dangerous situation, all general education and secondary schools (grades 5 to 13) in Duisburg, they will be closed on Monday," the newspaper informs with reference to the police.

It is clarified that this decision was made after receiving anonymous threats about impending "acts of violence" in schools. In their appeal, unknown persons stated about some "purges" that are planned in educational institutions.

Initially, the police did not take these threats seriously, but after receiving repeated messages, it was decided to switch classes to remote mode.

"Dear parents, dear students, due to the current threat situation that the responsible authorities have informed us about, there will be no face-to-face classes at our school tomorrow. This measure applies to all secondary and general education schools in Duisburg," one of the schools sent out a message.

In this regard, the "state security agencies" will investigate the incident and will try to find out who is behind it.

On February 8, a student from Kiselevsk was charged with falsely reporting a crime, and he could receive up to five years in prison. False information about the crime was received back in November last year. Then the Kiselevsk police received a message from the dispatch service, which said about the threat to one of the local schools.

Earlier, on December 25, a 17-year-old teenager was detained in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, who called all over the country for money and reported mining operations. Between 2021 and 2023, he made more than 350 deliberately false reports about the presence of dangerous objects in various buildings using IP telephony.
