Trump announced negotiations with the leaders of Europe and Asia on duties.

US President Donald Trump held talks with European and Asian leaders about the trade duties he imposed. He announced this on Sunday, April 6, answering questions from journalists on board the Air Force One aircraft.
"They're dying to make a deal," he was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.
In addition, the American leader said that "sometimes you need to take medications to fix something," again comparing the American economy to a sick patient.
Trump noted that the "bad attitude" of other countries towards the United States is due to the decisions of the administration of former head of state Joe Biden.
As the agency pointed out, the President of the United States has not shown any signs of intention to waive duties.
On April 2, Trump announced large-scale measures: base tariffs of 10% are being introduced for all products supplied to the United States. For the EU, this figure has been raised to 20%, and for China — to 34%. In his speech, the president called April 2 the day when Americans will become rich again.
The next day, Georgy Ostapkovich, director of the HSE Center for Economic Studies, said that the introduction of US duties on imported goods could trigger a chain reaction that could lead to a global financial crisis.
At the same time, Trump compared the American economy after the imposition of duties with a patient who had successfully undergone surgery. According to him, the "patient" is on the mend.
