- The psychologist pointed out the negative side of the trend of "beige moms" on the child

Recently, the movement of "beige moms" has been gaining popularity on social networks — women who surround their child exclusively with light beige tones and oppose brighter colors in clothes, interiors and toys. On April 6, Anna Vandaeva, a medical psychologist at the Department of Medical Rehabilitation of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital of the Russian Ministry of Health, told Gazeta about the negative impact of such mothers on children.Ru».
"It is difficult to instill a sense of taste in this way, because this is a rather subtle characteristic. It includes not only the habit of a certain style and beautiful surroundings, but also the ability to analyze visual information, perceive beauty in different forms, the ability to notice unusual combinations of textures and colors, and draw inspiration from the diversity of the surrounding world," she said.
According to the expert, after birth, the baby can only see the primary colors, but after the second month develops the ability to see their shades. Bright colors help the child to distinguish objects better and stimulate brain activity. Children can often react differently to toys of different colors.
Surrounding a child with only one shade creates a deficit of color stimuli, which will negatively affect the ability to perceive information, as well as hinder the development of associative thinking and memory. Such children may also show less emotional responsiveness.
"According to researchers in the field of color psychology, color is a powerful tool for influencing a child's emotional state and cognitive development. For example, red increases mental and physical activity, but if overused, it can cause outbursts of aggression. Blue reduces anxiety and agitation. Yellow has a tonic effect on the nervous system, stimulates appetite," explained the psychologist.
She also emphasized the beneficial effects of all shades of green on concentration. Brown, in turn, gives the child a feeling of comfort and warmth. And gray and beige — a sense of order.
"It is important to note that the limitations of the external environment and the poverty of a child's visual experience may make it difficult for him to socialize in a peer group. Clothes, accessories, and toy designs all carry cultural codes that help a child understand the world around them," Vandayeva said.
On April 3, cosmetologist Natalia Tkachenko gave tips on protecting children's skin from the sun. According to her, for each age group of children there are special features of the use of sunscreen cosmetics. So, no products can be applied to the baby's skin for up to three months, and after that you need products with an ultraviolet protection index (SPF), but only in accordance with the age label.
