Yevgeny Manko, the driver of a minibus with a shipment of explosives detained at the border, said he did not know about the cargo he was delivering to Russia. He made the corresponding statement on Saturday, April 6.
"They took advantage of me without even thinking for a second about what would happen to me and my family, or anyone else," the detained driver said on the Belarus 1 TV channel.
As indicated in the publication, the minibus was heading from Lithuania across the Polish-Belarusian border to Russia.
According to Manko himself, he specializes in transportation from Europe to Belarus and the Russian Federation. And the driver named his friend from Estonia as the customer of this cargo.
Earlier in the day, employees of the State Customs Committee of Belarus seized the largest batch of explosives weighing 580 kg. An investigation is underway into the incident. The origin of the cargo, its final destination and possible persons involved are being established.
