Ovechkin's agent called his sniper record a great achievement.

Setting a world sniper record by Russian forward of the Washington Capitals hockey club Alexander Ovechkin is a great achievement for the entire world of sports. This was announced on Sunday, April 6, by the athlete's agent Gleb Chistyakov.
"I think this is a great achievement for the whole world of sports. Not just for hockey fans. A truly historic day. <...> I believe that Sasha's love for hockey and his amazing hard work over the years have made him this great athlete," he said in an interview with Izvestia.
The athlete's agent also clarified that Ovechkin has another year of contract with the Washington Capitals.
Ovechkin scored his 895th goal in the National Hockey League regular season on April 6 against the New York Islanders, breaking the record of four-time Stanley Cup winner Wayne Gretzky, who scored 894 goals. He scored a goal against a compatriot playing for the opposing team, Ilya Sorokin. So, Ovechkin topped the ranking of the most accurate snipers in the league.
