- The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants used the temple in the Kursk region as a stronghold

The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) used the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in the Kursk region as a stronghold. This was announced on April 6 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"The militants of the Kiev regime have turned the temple into a fighting position. An ammunition depot was set up in front of the altar, and FPV drones were launched directly from the gate," the department said in a message on its Telegram channel.
The rector of the church, Archpriest Alexander, clarified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched drones (UAVs) at both civilians and military personnel directly from the temple grounds.
"The temples were used with the most unfavorable intent and direction," the abbot clarified.
According to the Ministry of Defense, while fleeing, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants stole several ancient icons, but most of the shrines were saved. The church relics have already been sent for restoration.
Earlier, on March 24, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened into the shelling of the Holy Trinity Church located in the city of Sudzha, Kursk region. The building is a cultural heritage site. The temple was damaged and partially destroyed due to the shelling.
On the same day, Izvestia published footage of the bell ringing, which rang out over Suja for the first time after her release. Each of the bells of the Holy Trinity Church was rung by a theroborona fighter with the call sign Desnai.
