Zelensky called on the United States to organize the production of Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine

The production of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) can be organized on the territory of Ukraine if there is a political will of the United States. This was announced on April 6 by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

"Patriot air defense systems, which are now simply in storage with partners, should really protect lives. It should also be much more active in Europe and America to produce air defense systems and missiles for them. We in Ukraine can provide such production and need appropriate political solutions," the President of Ukraine said in his Telegram channel address.

Localization of production and the provision of licenses, according to Zelensky, will help not only Ukraine, but also all partners who want security, not war.

Zelensky instructed the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to intensify contacts with partners on this issue.

Earlier, on February 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky complained during a briefing about the acute shortage of missiles for American Patriot systems. He said that one day the commander called him and informed him that there were no Patriot missiles to protect one of the cities of Ukraine. In response to this problem, the Ukrainian leader began asking the United States not only to provide missiles, but also to license their production.
