Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on April 6 that he plans to discuss with US President Donald Trump US duties on Israeli goods, as well as the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

"I am going to the United States to meet with President Trump and discuss, of course, issues related to the hostages [in Gaza] and the completion of Victory in Gaza, and, of course, the duties imposed on Israel," the Israeli prime minister said in a video message before traveling to the United States.

Netanyahu also noted that he would become the first world leader to personally hold talks with the head of the United States on Washington's large-scale import tariffs.

A day earlier, Axios reported that, in addition to economic issues and the conflict in the Gaza Strip, the leaders will discuss the situation with Iran's nuclear program.

Trump announced the introduction of mirror duties on imports from a number of countries to the United States on April 2. A tariff of 17% was imposed on Israeli products as part of these measures. At the same time, the European Union (EU) received a rate of 20%, and China — 34%.
