Iran called for the creation of nuclear weapons for an equal dialogue with the West

Iran must begin a rapid movement towards the creation of nuclear weapons in order to be able to negotiate with the United States on equal terms. This was stated on April 6 by a member of the unicameral parliament, Mohammad Qasim Osmani, his speech was broadcast by the SNN TV channel.

"If we have no other tool to combat bullying and excessive demands, then the only way is a rapid and non—stop movement towards the creation of nuclear weapons as a deterrent," Osmani stressed.

According to him, it is reasonable and logical to avoid a military conflict, but "global arrogance has left Iran no other way."

Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian said on April 5 that Tehran seeks an equal dialogue with other countries and does not accept threatening attempts at negotiations from Washington. He also called on the Iranian people to unite in order to force the opponents of the state to think about the consequences of their attacks against the country.

On April 2, it was reported that Trump had threatened Iran with "extinction by September" if the country did not agree to the nuclear deal and curtail its program. The American leader has already warned Tehran that failure to conclude an agreement would lead to bombing of the Islamic Republic. On the same day, it became known that the United States and Israel could strike Iran in order to allegedly eliminate the threat posed by its nuclear program. It is specified that the countries are preparing for a military operation against Tehran.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 3 that threats of attacks on Iran's nuclear energy infrastructure were unacceptable, as they could lead to irreversible radiological and humanitarian consequences.
