- The death toll from floods and tornadoes in the United States has increased to 15 people.

In the United States, the death toll from incessant storms and floods in the south of the country has reached 15 people, The Washington Post reported on April 6.
Rescue teams continue to work in settlements tired of heavy rains. It is noted that at the moment there are deaths in five states. Among them is a five—year-old child in Arkansas, another boy who died on his way to school in Kentucky, as well as the fire chief in Missouri, who himself participated in search and rescue operations.
"Most of the victims were from the western part of Tennessee — five more deaths were reported there on Saturday, according to the state Department of Health," the media notes.
Most of the destruction is currently being observed in areas from Arkansas to Kentucky. According to the warning from the National Weather Service, floods and tornadoes will continue for now, making the situation "particularly dangerous and life-threatening."
"Until the storm subsides, the floods will be widespread, as new waves of moisture will continue to repeatedly pass through the besieged and already oversaturated region," the newspaper reports.
On April 5, ABC News reported that at least 12 people were killed due to the rapid deterioration of weather conditions in the United States. It was noted that there is still a threat of severe flooding in Memphis, as well as a high risk of tornadoes in Texas.
Earlier, on March 29, four people died as a result of flooding on the US-Mexico border. It is reported that as a result of heavy rains, more than 21.5 inches (54.6 cm) of precipitation fell, as a result of which entire areas were flooded, and drainage systems simply could not cope. On March 16, it was reported that at least 36 people died as a result of storms that are taking place in the south and Midwest of the United States.
