The running season was opened in Moscow with the 5-kilometer April race

On April 6, a five-kilometer April race took place around the territory of the Luzhniki sports complex in Moscow, which served as the opening of the running season.
The route passed along the Walk of Fame, Novoluzhnetsky Passage and Luzhnetskaya Embankment. Even the weather conditions and precipitation in the form of snow did not leave the participants of the race.
The participants of the third stage of the Student Cup of the "Running Community" started first. The best results were shown by a student of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and a student of the Moscow Pedagogical State University.
Ivan Panferov won the men's race. He covered the distance in 14 minutes and 56 seconds. Alla Sidorova won the women's race with a score of 16 minutes 55 seconds.
Ksenia Gufranova, co-founder of the LEVITA international network of ballet and stretching studios, in an interview with Izvestia on March 9, called the main mistake of novice athletes an attempt to immediately engage intensively and often, which quickly leads to abandonment of sports. She stressed that it is worth training according to a pre-planned schedule, paying attention to regularity rather than intensity.
