Fraudsters intimidated a Muscovite woman with an article about treason and stole almost 3 million rubles.

Fraudsters threatened a 77-year-old pensioner from Moscow with criminal prosecution for alleged treason and stole 2.5 million rubles and jewelry from her. This was announced on April 6 by a source of Izvestia.

According to him, on March 27, an unknown woman called the woman via messenger and allegedly convinced her to recalculate her pension. The victim dictated her passport details. After that, the malefactor contacted her on behalf of an FSB officer and informed her that the pensioner was communicating with "enemies", as a result of which she allegedly faces a criminal article.

The fraudster informed the victim that a "search" would be conducted in her apartment, since all funds needed to be "declared" in the house. At the direction of the scammers, the pensioner collected the accumulated cash in the amount of 2.5 million rubles and handed it over to the courier. After that, the attackers found out about the woman's jewelry, which they subsequently asked to pawn and also transfer the money to an intermediary.

After that, the attackers stopped contacting us. The total damage amounted to 2.8 million rubles. A criminal case has been opened into the theft under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").

On April 1, a man was detained in Novosibirsk, who stole more than 3 million rubles of savings from a pensioner in Krasnoyarsk and transferred the money to accomplices. It was noted that the man already had a criminal record. It was established that he managed to transfer almost the entire amount through the cryptocurrency exchange office, he left only 90 thousand rubles for himself. A criminal case has been opened on this fact under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").
