Sobyanin spoke about design solutions for the Vavilovskaya metro station

The walls along the platform at the Moscow metro station "Vavilovskaya" are decorated with small steel elements with a mirrored surface, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
"They will flicker, reflecting the light. At the same time, the effect will be visible only to passengers and will not interfere with the drivers," he wrote in his Telegram.
The mayor explained that the design of the station was inspired by the research in the field of luminescence by the outstanding physicist Sergey Vavilov.
The lights above the platform will symbolize the particles of light. "In the future, they will create a movement effect by increasing the diameter from 10 to 30 cm," Sobyanin added.
The Vavilovskaya metro station, along with three more (Akademicheskaya, Krymskaya and ZIL), is scheduled to open this year. In 2024, seven stations of this branch were opened. The Troitskaya line will become one of the longest in the Moscow metro.
