A case has been opened into an accident involving two dead pedestrians near Novosibirsk.

The Prosecutor's office of the Toguchinsky district of the Novosibirsk region is monitoring the progress and results of the investigation of a criminal case initiated into an accident in the village of Medicinal, in which two pedestrians were killed. This was reported on April 6 in the regional department.

"A criminal case has been opened under paragraph "a" of Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons, committed by a person in a state of intoxication")," the Telegram channel says.

It was established that the day before, at about 21:30 local time (17:30 Moscow time), a woman born in 1988 in a Lada Granta car hit two female pedestrians born in 1986 and 2003. The injuries of the victims turned out to be incompatible with life.

The driver was detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure for her is currently being resolved.

The accident was reported on the evening of April 5 in the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Novosibirsk region. It was clarified that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.
