Freight train caught fire in Krasnoyarsk region

The locomotive of a freight train ignited in the Krasnoyarsk Territory at about 05:00 local time (01:00 Moscow time) on Sunday, April 6. This was announced by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office in its Telegram channel.

"According to preliminary data, today, at about 5 o'clock, during the passage of a freight train on the section of track between Snezhnitsa and Kacha stations in the Yemelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, its locomotive caught fire," the report said.

The fire was extinguished by the special services that arrived at the scene.

It is noted that the causes of the fire are currently unknown, work is underway to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.

The Transport Prosecutor's Office has organized supervisory measures to verify the implementation of legislation on the safety of railway transport and fire safety.
