Canadian law enforcement officers have detained a man who barricaded himself in the country's parliament building in Ottawa. This was announced on April 6 by the city police on the social network X (Ex. Twitter).

"The incident with the barricaded man in the eastern district ended without incident. One person was detained. The criminal investigation is ongoing and an update will be provided in the morning," the statement said.

The department's staff thanked the public for their cooperation.

The fact that an unknown man in Ottawa barricaded himself in the Canadian Parliament building was reported on Saturday, April 5. The streets in front of the federal building are cordoned off while the situation is being resolved.
