The expert talked about ways to choose effective dietary supplements.

The modern market of biologically active additives (dietary supplements) is rapidly expanding, offering consumers a wide range of products with promises to improve their health. On Sunday, March 6, a biologist, nutritionist, expert in the field of peptide bioregulation, deputy director of the Union of Healthy Health, founder of the School of Systemic Medicine V academy, co-author of the course TNE PEPTIDES Artem Yashin told how to choose truly effective supplements and avoid useless ones.Газета.Ru ".
Dietary supplements are compositions of natural or synthesized biologically active substances designed to enrich the diet, the expert specified. There are two main types of them: nutraceuticals aimed at replenishing the deficiency of nutrients (proteins, vitamins, minerals), and parapharmaceuticals containing biologically active components (peptides, flavonoids, organic acids).
The biologist drew attention to the fact that dietary supplements are not medicines and do not undergo the same rigorous clinical trials. Their action is aimed at maintaining health, not treating diseases, he explained.
When choosing effective supplements, you should pay attention to several key aspects.
First, according to the nutritionist, scientific evidence of effectiveness should be sought — preference should be given to products that have passed clinical trials and have publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Secondly, the expert called for a thorough study of the composition: specifying specific dosages of active substances and the absence of excessive amounts of fillers (except for parapharmaceuticals) are important quality indicators.
Special care should be taken with additives that promise a "miraculous" effect, Yashin noted.
The biologist also spoke about the importance of the fact that all dietary supplements must be registered with the relevant state authorities and have a certificate of state registration (SGR). The absence of the SGR is a reason for doubt, the expert said.
In addition, the expert called for checking product reviews and the manufacturer's reputation.
"Dietary supplements are useful tools for maintaining health, but their effectiveness depends on the scientific basis and the quality of the product. Choose supplements with a proven scientific basis, read the composition and follow the manufacturers' honesty," concluded Yashin.
On March 27, Elvina Binatova, a nutritionist and endocrinologist at SM Clinic, told Izvestia about the symptoms that should be treated immediately by an endocrinologist. So, the specialist advised to pay attention to such signs as hair loss, dry skin and brittle nails. According to her, it is often the disorders in the thyroid gland that require a comprehensive examination and competent therapy that are hidden behind this. And trying to solve the problem by taking various dietary supplements, as patients often do, is by no means impossible.
