The expert spoke about the dangers of dirty bed linen for sleeping

Timely replacement of bed linen improves skin condition and overall well-being. This was announced on Saturday, April 6, by Maria Zolotareva, senior lecturer at the Department of Biotechnology and Industrial Pharmacy of RTU MIREA, in an interview withГазета.Ru ".
"The optimal frequency of replacing home sleeping textiles is at least once a week. During this time, a mass of dead epidermal cells, sweat, fatty secretions and dust accumulate on the tissue. All this creates an ideal environment for the reproduction of microorganisms," the expert explained.
At the same time, she recommended that people who sweat profusely change their underwear every three to five days. The same rule should be followed throughout the summer in hot weather.
In addition, in case of infections or fever, Zolotareva called for changing clothes daily to prevent the spread of the disease.
"People with hypersensitivity or a tendency to allergies are advised to update their underwear set twice or three times a week," said the senior lecturer.
Failure to follow the rules for changing bed linen can cause various health problems, the expert emphasized.
According to her, accumulations of microorganisms and pollutants can cause itching, inflammation and irritation, especially in people with dermatological diseases. Dust mites, which actively develop in stale laundry, provoke allergic reactions. And microorganisms on the tissue can cause infection of other family members.
Also, as Zolotoreva pointed out, stale underwear negatively affects the quality of sleep and recovery of the body.
The service life of bedding is determined by the quality of the fabric and the conditions of use. Experts recommend updating the kits every two to three years. Linen that has lost its softness and worn out prematurely should be replaced. The use of natural materials such as cotton or linen not only increases the service life, but also ensures a comfortable stay, Zolotareva concluded.
On March 20, Alexandra Pashkova, a dermatologist at the Semeynaya clinic network, noted in a conversation with Izvestia that with the onset of spring, the skin is facing new challenges: temperature fluctuations, increased solar activity, and vitamin deficiency. The specialist reported on the importance of hydration this season, as after winter, the skin is often dehydrated due to prolonged exposure to low temperatures and dry indoor air. To maintain the water balance, Pashkova advised using products with hyaluronic acid.
