Moscow Prosecutor's Office has opened a case into the murder of a one-year-old child by a pensioner

An investigation has been launched into the murder of a one-year-old child by a pensioner in Moscow. This was announced on April 5 by the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office in the Telegram channel.

"The defendant, born in 1974, has been detained. On the spot, the work of law enforcement agencies is coordinated by Khoroshevsky interdistrict prosecutor Grigory Romanov," the department said.

It is specified that the suspect was the grandfather of the deceased child. He was intoxicated at the time of the attack.

"The establishment of all the circumstances, as well as the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case initiated into the murder of a minor (paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), is under control at the prosecutor's office," the prosecutor's office said.

On April 5, a source told Izvestia about a pensioner's attack on a grandmother with a one-year-old child in her arms. Ambulance crews are working at the scene.
