- The President of Zimbabwe announced the abolition of all duties on goods from the United States.

Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said he will instruct the government to lift all tariffs on imports of goods from the United States in order to attract them to the republic's market. He made the corresponding statement on Saturday, April 5, on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
"I will instruct the Government of Zimbabwe to suspend all tariffs levied on goods originating from the United States," the head of state wrote.
He noted that the measure was taken in order to build friendly relations with the United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump.
In addition, in this way, Mnangagwa intends not only to increase imports of goods from the United States, but also to contribute to the growth of Zimbabwean exports.
"This decision underlines our commitment to the principles of fair trade and the expansion of bilateral cooperation," the President of Armenia concluded.
On April 2, Trump announced large-scale measures: base tariffs of 10% are being introduced for all products supplied to the United States. For Europe, this figure has been raised to 20%, and for China — to 34%. In his speech, the president called April 2 the day when Americans will become rich again.
Yuri Ichkitidze, an analyst at Freedom Finance Global, said on April 3 that the introduction of new duties could lead to a slowdown in US economic growth in 2025, as well as provoke an increase in inflation. According to him, the negative effect for the United States is associated with the "boomerang effect" — retaliatory measures and rising prices. Inflation may increase by 1-1.5% this year.
