Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree approving amendments to the Regulations on Federal State Control in the field of fisheries and Conservation of Aquatic Biological Resources. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on April 5.

"To approve the attached amendments to the Regulation on Federal State Control (Supervision) in the Field of Fisheries and Conservation of Aquatic Biological Resources, approved by the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated June 25, 2021," the signed document decided.

One of the most significant changes was the introduction of a special surveillance regime at some water bodies — a permanent raid.

As part of the event, law enforcement officers can interrogate and demand documents from controlled persons, as well as inspect their vehicle. If violations are found, an act will be drawn up against each person who committed a violation.

In the Lipetsk region, a ban on pike fishing will be in effect in all inland reservoirs from March 20 to April 25. From April 15 to June 8, walleye fishing will be banned in the region. In addition, the amount of penalties for damage to aquatic biological resources will additionally increase. During the period when the ban is in effect, it is charged in double the amount.
