China called pressure and threats from the United States the wrong way to interact

The Chinese leadership believes that the pressure and threats used by the United States in foreign policy are the wrong way to interact. This was announced on April 5 in a statement by the government of the country, published by China Central Television (CCTV).
"We don't provoke trouble, but we're not afraid of trouble either. Pressure and threats are the wrong way to interact with China," the document says.
It clarifies that China is already taking "and will continue to take" decisive measures to protect its sovereignty, security and development interests.
Beijing also noted that the introduction of US duties violates the rules of the World Trade Organization and damages the rules-based multilateral trading system, as well as undermines the stability of the global economic order.
"The United States must meet the common aspirations of the peoples of the two countries and the world, protect the fundamental interests of the two countries, stop using tariffs as a weapon to suppress China's economy and trade, and stop undermining the legitimate rights of the Chinese people to develop," the statement adds.
On April 4, Trump commented on the retaliatory duties from the People's Republic of China (PRC), saying that China "panicked" and "did the wrong thing." China imposed duties of 34% against the United States on the same day.
On April 2, the American leader announced large-scale trade measures: base tariffs of 10% are introduced for all products supplied to the United States. For the European Union (EU), this figure has been raised to 20%, and for China — to 34%. In his speech, the president called April 2 the day when Americans will become rich again.
