Soviet and Russian director Semyon Losev has died.

Soviet and Russian director, Honored Artist of Russia Semyon Losev died at the age of 79. This was announced on April 5 by the head of the Starooskolsky city district of the Belgorod region, Vladimir Zhdanov.
"It is with deep sorrow that I inform you that Semyon Mikhailovich Losev passed away today," Zhdanov wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, Semyon Mikhailovich was not just a talented leader, but also a man who "made a huge contribution to the development of the culture of Stary Oskol."
"His dedication, talent and love for the theater allowed him to create a unique acting school, and brought up more than one generation of talented artists," Zhdanov added.
From 1980 to 1988 and from 1990 to 2001, Losev worked as a director at the Riga Russian Drama Theater. In 2007, he became the head of the Starooskolsky Theater for Children and Youth and taught acting to students of the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute.
