Danis Zaripov called Ovechkin's record a world event

Three-time world champion in the Russian national team, the only five-time Gagarin Cup winner, hockey player Danis Zaripov, called the record of Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin a world event.

"The emotions are, of course, the most amazing, because this is a global event. We always root for Sasha, support him and, of course, we are proud of him and the fact that we played together," said Zaripov.

The Russian striker starred in the video for a special version of the band's song "Hands up!" "I'm already 18," which is timed to coincide with the sniper record of the Washington Capitals captain. This is the song Ovechkin likes to sing in karaoke. The premiere took place on the TV channels of the National Media Group (NMG) holding.

"A good group of his friends gathered, we were all watching and waiting for the record, so we took part in the filming of the video with great pleasure," added Zaripov.

On April 6, Ovechkin scored 895 goals in an away match against the New York Islanders in the regular NHL championships, ahead of Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, who scored 894 goals in 21 seasons.

The TV channels of the National Media Group (NMG) holding and the performer, the leader of the band "Hands Up!" Sergey Zhukov congratulated Ovechkin with a world record clip for his favorite song from the repertoire of the musical group.
