A resident of the Ulyanovsk region revealed details about the mother of the murdered girl.

The girl's mother, whose body was found with her throat slit in the Ulyanovsk region, had been abusing alcohol. This was reported to Izvestia on April 5 by a local resident, Irina Veklenko.

"I often left the girl alone. Mom has a friend there, and because of this friend, mom often abandoned the girl. I saw her on the bus, very often drunk," she clarified.

Irina added that she met the woman in the afternoon, greeted her and found out that the girl's mother was going to the police because the other children were suspected of murdering her daughter.

Another local resident clarified that this is the first such case in the village of Tumkino. According to him, "normal people" live in the village and he did not notice hooligans.

The suspect in the case is the babies' father.

On April 5, the Investigative Committee of Russia reported the arrest of two suspects, including a minor local resident, in the Terengulsky district. A criminal case has been opened into the crime under Part 3 of Article 162 ("Robbery with entry into a home or on a large scale"), as well as under paragraphs "b" and "h" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a minor for mercenary motives").

The girl's body was found in the basement of her own house with her throat slit, a source told Izvestia on April 4. At the time of the incident, the schoolgirl was alone, her mother was spending the night with her boyfriend at that time. According to the Russian Interior Ministry, the victim was 14 years old.
