A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated the infrastructure of a military airfield, ammunition depots for rocket and artillery weapons, an enterprise for assembling drones (UAVs), as well as concentrations of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and foreign mercenaries in 147 districts.

The units of the Zapad group of forces have also improved their position along the front line. The fighters defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized assault brigades of the enemy and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Komarovka, Kondrashovka and Kamenka in the Kharkiv region.

The Ukrainian militants lost over 250 soldiers, a tank, two pickup trucks and seven field artillery pieces in this area, including five Western-made ones. An ammunition depot was also destroyed, the military added.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense indicated that air defense systems shot down seven JDAM guided aerial bombs and five HIMARS multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) made in the United States, as well as 208 aircraft-type UAVs.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 660 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 49,982 UAVs, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), 22,683 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,534 MLRS combat vehicles, 23,233 field artillery and mortars, 33,685 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
