The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow has arrested Yuri Kozhevnikov, head of the State Construction Supervision Department of the Main Directorate for Control and Supervisory Activities of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was announced on April 5 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the capital.

"The investigator's request to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention against Kozhevnikov Yuri Vasilyevich <...> for a period of one month and 22 days has been granted," the press service said in a Telegram channel.

The arrested man is suspected of committing crimes under paragraph "b" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code and Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code ("Receiving large and especially large bribes"). It is noted that the official's defense asked for a milder measure of restraint in the form of house arrest, but the court refused this.

A day earlier, the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow placed Andrei Protasov, head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "27 Central Research Institute" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, under house arrest for a period of one month and 30 days on suspicion of accepting a bribe. He is also suspected of two counts of accepting bribes — on a large and especially large scale.
