US President Donald Trump has dismissed General Timothy Ho from his post as director of the National Security Agency. This was announced on Friday, April 4, according to the Reuters news agency.

The general was fired during a purge of the national security system that affected more than a dozen employees of the White House National Security Council.

Along with General Ho, who is also the head of the US Cyber Command, his deputy at the NSA, Wendy Noble, was fired.

On March 30, WP announced the dismissal of hundreds of employees of the United States Institute of Peace by decision of DOGE. According to the newspaper, some employees of the institute were offered severance pay or an extension of medical insurance in exchange for their signatures waiving the right to file a lawsuit. It is noted that in total, USIP has about 600 employees in offices around the world.

The Reuters news agency, citing sources, reported on March 29 that the remaining employees of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) would be laid off in July and September. According to Reuters, the Trump administration has informed Congress that it will cut almost all remaining jobs at USAID, as well as close the agency.
