Five mayors have been arrested in Venezuela on drug trafficking charges.

Five mayors of the Venezuelan state of Zulia, bordering Colombia, have been arrested in Venezuela, linked to mafia and drug trafficking. This was announced on Friday, April 4, by the state television company Venezolana de Televisioni.
Diosdado Cabello, Vice President for Policy, Citizen Security and Peace, confirmed this information and added that the charges are related to drug trafficking and drug traffickers operating in the state.
He also mentioned that opposition leader Jose Enrique Rincon was covering up illegal activities with an extensive network of shrimp farms on the shores of Lake Maracaibo.
