Private Petrukhin of the Guards corrected artillery fire on the firing position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Guard Private Alexander Petrukhin, as part of an assault group, carried out a combat mission to storm strong points and identify closed firing positions of the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian Ministry of Defense on Saturday, April 5, reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen committed in the area of a special military operation (SVO).

After the end of the battle, Petrukhin decided to set up covert surveillance posts on the hill. He himself noticed an enemy howitzer and AFU personnel in a nearby forest belt. Petrukhin reported the coordinates to the Russian gunners. The gun was eliminated along with the enemy's calculation.

Meanwhile, another enemy artillery crew opened fire on the position of Petrukhin's group. The Guard private ordered the Russian soldiers to take cover, while he remained in position to adjust the artillery fire of the Russian Armed Forces. As a result, the AFU firing point was destroyed.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the competent and professional actions of Corporal Sergei Veselov, who performed the tasks of delivering logistical equipment to Russian units.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces, using artillery and mortar crews, attacked a column of Russian equipment, which included Veselov with a load of ammunition. Quickly getting his bearings, the corporal began to maneuver, leading the vehicle away from the impact. Having successfully reached a safe section of the road and delivered the cargo to its destination, Veselov discovered an enemy drone approaching him. The drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed by targeted fire from personal weapons.

Earlier, on April 4, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Guard Second Lieutenant Ruslan Baigushkin commanded the assault groups of a motorized rifle platoon and was tasked with knocking out the Ukrainian Armed Forces from a fortified position. As a result of the mortar attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, three Russian servicemen were wounded, and Baigushkin personally organized their evacuation.
