The duties imposed by US President Donald Trump on trading partners can bring the American economy from $300 billion to $600 billion a year, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson on April 4.

"Could it be anywhere from $300 to $600 billion a year? Of course," Bessent said in an interview posted on the page of journalist Tucker Carlson on the social network X (ex. Twitter)

He also explained that the main goal is to return and transfer production facilities back to the United States.

According to Bessent, this "should stimulate new arrivals to the American economy and create jobs."
